Impossible Project Giveaway on Off Switch Blog! www.offswitchblog.com

Happy Monday, everyone! Boy have I got a treat for you today. Lately I’ve been in contact with the folks over at The Impossible Project, and they kindly offered to send me a Polaroid camera and two of their PX 680 film packs to give away to one of you! Whether you’re an instant pro or newbie, this giveaway package is for anyone who likes taking pictures. What’s that? You like taking pictures? Wonderful! You can enter up to two times. Check out the details below:

1) Tell me how you live your life without an off switch! Remember, it doesn’t have to be something big and life changing. Living without an off switch could be as simple as doing more jigsaw puzzles because you love them. So, what’s one way you’re living your life without an off switch? Share your answer with me in the comments below for entry #1!

2) This bonus entry is for all our offswitchmag followers on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and this blog! You only have to follow on one of those social media sites, so if you haven’t already, take a look at the links in the right sidebar, click follow on at least one of them, and comment on this post to let me know through which outlet(s) you follow Off Switch. There is only one bonus entry allowed per person.

Good luck, friends! This giveaway will close on Tuesday, February 26, 2013.

***Polaroids in bottom photo not included.

The biggest thing that I did help live without an off switch is that I STOPPED carrying a cell phone about a year and a half ago. I still travel with it but I do not have it on my person on a day to day basis. This is HUGE. Unfortunately now I am an “in the moment nazi” I go bananas if friends and associates answer or play around on their cell when they are with ME.

The second thing I did was something I didn’t really have any control over – I had a granddaughter and spend as much time with her as possible. Once a week at minimum for 14 months now – the antidote to just about anything.

Living without and off switch means knowing that is okay to take care of myself too. Self care is a must!

I live in New Orleans, where there has never been an off switch. You have to stay on constantly to take it all in with things happening all the time at the wonderful restaurants, music venues, art galleries and outdoor spaces like City Park and Audubon.

I’m always composing in my head. Everything I looked I try and see through my lenses, at least in my mind. I’m always looking at the color, the composition, trying to find that perfect shot in a perfect spot. That’s how I live without an off switch.

No off switch means never letting my brain get lazy. To quote Neil Gaiman, it means I must “make good art” all the time. Always make. That makes me happy, makes me feel like I should keep going.

Awesome contest/partnership here, Katie! Good for you! I think everyone here should head over to to Kickstarter to back this amazing magazine and keep this stuff rolling!

Keep Off Switch going without an off switch!

I broke my off switch when I moved to Portland, OR in 2004, and I’ve never been happier. Portland is a city buzzing (literally, did you read about the elevated caffeine content in Oregon’s coastal waters?) with ideas, creativity, and innovation, and I find myself continually inspired by the people I meet here. I now understand the saying “There are not enough hours in the day,” because even if I stayed up for the next three years straight I couldn’t possibly tire of the vibrant conversations and creative projects my friends and I have going on.

Getting outside and being active at least once a day is how I’ve been living my life without an off switch lately. :) It’s so easy to sit at my computer all day…so I’ve been making an extra effort.
Thanks for a lovely giveaway, Katie!

I find my dog and cats help (force) me to hit the Off switch; if I take the dog for a walk or snuggle with a cat a little longer than necessary then that means I’m ‘off’ all the more often! Also, not owning a cell phone really helps me to switch off; I am less available and therefore find more time for me.

I started keeping a notebook and using fountain pens for writing. This has really allowed me to be more creative and more mindful every day and living without an off switch.

I’ve decided to dive back into illustration. I majored in illustration in college but once I graduated I needed a break. I feel my passion for drawing coming back and am excited at what this year will bring.

I have been persuing my Bachelors degree tirelessly for 6 years. Started when I was 20 and have been working a full time job while working on accomplishing my educational goals. Next term is my last term, and I will still continue to live without an off switch even after I walk across that stage and get my degree. Carpe diem!

I live without an Off Switch by always listening to myself and not what other people tell me what to do. I follow my own interests and dreams and not what other people want me to be or do. I never stop being myself because I like myself!

What it means to me….. I try hard at everything I do to live life intentionally and purposefully, trying to simplify so I can focus as much as possible on what is important. Intentional parenting, marriage, friendships, helping others, and how I see my surroundings :) Living life without an off switch…. such a great way to think of myself. Thank you for the awesome publications!

Living without an off switch lately has meant spending less time on my phone or computer, and instead using that time to get into good books. Reading is drastically more fulfilling than frittering time away on the internet, and I’m happy that it’s becoming an everyday habit for me. One of my resolutions for 2013 is to read one book a week, and right now I’m ahead of schedule with almost eleven books down!

Lately, living without an off switch has led me to be more creative artistically. I’ve had a lot more time to design and paint greeting cards, which has been rewarding in many ways. Not only do I benefit from the creative process, but it’s also nice to be able to share my work with others. It is surely becoming a habit that I hope to maintain in the future!
